YAMBA GETAWAY - YAEGL COUNTRY - YAMBA, NSW~Accessibility Review
Nestled in the heart of Yamba, this one-bedroom renovated garage radiates a quirky charm and a warm ambience, offering a unique retreat just a short 10-minute drive away from the bustling tourist shopping and dining hub, as well as the sun-kissed beaches that define the coastal town. Attached to the main house, this unit provides direct access to a shared backyard deck area adorned with a barbecue, creating a perfect setting for relaxed evenings and casual gatherings.
7 On Merindah – Quandamooka Country – Coochiemudlo Island, QLD ~Accessibility Review
My latest accessibility review is on the charming disability inclusive '7 on Merindah,' nestled with charm on Moreton Bay's residential island, Coochiemudlo (the indigenous name, Kutchi-mudlo, for place of Redstone). In Australia, fully accessible holiday homes are a rarity, making 7 On Merindah a unique find. Coochiemudlo Island is largely wheelchair accessible, and will suit many people with disability

Ingenia Holidays Broulee - Yuin country - NSW~Accessibility Review
We arrived to the tantalising sounds of waves on the Broulee Rocks beach behind the dense scrub that separates it from Ingenia Holiday Park. The somewhat tired yet accessible unit has been modified for those using wheelchairs and requiring mobility assistance. However, it wasn't a comfortable stay as there were too many adjustments and workarounds to be made for my situation.
Captains Cove Apartments – Gunaikurnai country – Paynesville, Vic ~Accessibility Review
Captain’s Cove Apartments was a great place to start our road trip, and we spent two nights and days surrounded by the gentle clink of ropes swaying against sail masts on the many boats and yachts docked around us. This inclusively designed two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment is a joy to stay in.
Quest Bendigo Central - Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung country - Bendigo, Vic ~ Accessibility Review
We've finally found a place we can stay to visit family in Central regional Victoria. The Quest Bendigo Central has become my new overnight go-to so that I might not miss out on family events again.
Basils Farm - Wadawurrung Country - Swan Bay, Vic ~ Accessibility Review
Disability-friendly Basils Farm on the Bellarine Peninsula is a charming, rustic restaurant with magnificent views and is retrofitted to be wheelchair and mobility aid accessible both inside and around the beautiful gardens. I enjoy their food and service and that they have used common sense and some ingenuity to make Basils Farm dining as inclusive as possible.
Pier St Cafe Portarlington - Wadawurrung Country - Vic ~ Accessibility Review
Pier St Cafe Portarlington is refreshingly wheelchair accessible and in a beautiful part of the Bellarine Peninsula. With plenty of accessible parking in front, a smooth step-free path to a wide flush entrance and plenty of internal space, Pier St is one of the most disability-friendly dining venues around.
Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park ( Wurundjeri & Bunurong country) - Accessibility Review
Equal-access accommodation for people with disabilities is very hard to find. It's even harder to find lovely accommodation. Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park in Melbourne's outer Southeast suburbs is a great option for this mobility equipment wielding gal when visiting family and friends.
Pavilion Geelong (Wadawurrung Country) - Accessibility Review
A picturesque waterfront accessible roll/stroll leads to the historic promenade area and one of the most accessible restaurants/cafés I've ever been to – Pavilion Geelong. The kiosk and outdoor dining area greet us with the happy sounds of seagulls, mingling people, and bright piped music.
The Bungalow Restaurant ( Wadawurrung Country) Drysdale, Vic - Accessibility Review
This nearly century-old California Bungalow-styled former home has been beautifully converted into a modern, accessible restaurant. The key historic elements have been cleverly retained such as the stained-glass windows and fireplace which have integrated perfectly with completely flush wide entrances, room for a wheelchair to navigate and an accessible bathroom.
MACq01 Hotel, Hobart, Tasmania ( Nipaluna country) - Accessibility Review
After despairing that we may never find accessible holiday accommodation in Hobart my sister-in-law suggested the swanky Macq01.
As my physical abilities diminish due to LGMD ( Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy) Gaz and I are even more elated to find that rare combination of beauty, elegance, and accessibility that the Macq01 offers. These aesthetic factors are so often overlooked when accommodations are made for physically disabled people who wish to travel. Macq01Hotel takes inclusiveness seriously
