The Bungalow Restaurant ( Wadawurrung Country) Drysdale, Vic - Accessibility Review

SUMMARY

This nearly century old California Bungalow styled former home has been beautifully converted into a modern, accessible restaurant. The key historic elements have been cleverly retained such as the stained-glass windows and fireplace which have integrated perfectly with completely flush wide entrances, room for a wheelchair to navigate and an accessible bathroom.

Kelly and staff have proven their flexibility and drive and have adapted courageously as the fallout from Covid restrictions is playing out. The bungalow is a thriving, humming hub where everyone is welcome, the tables are great to get a wheelchair under and the coffee and chai are delish.

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE:

I look at the ways in which businesses present an overall inclusive experience for their patrons. While I focus on mobility access I hope to get ideas from you and others to add observations relating too other disabilities. I take a comprehensive look at everything from initial website experience to staff attitudes. I do not comment on food (except sometimes if it’s super fab I might not be able to help myself) as you can have the joy of making up your own mind on that.

 Happy accessible living,
